Donald Powell

Mr. Powell served as FDIC Chairman from 2001-2005, and was named by President George W. Bush as the Federal Coordinator of Gulf Coast Rebuilding, developing long-term rebuilding plans for the region in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Prior to serving as FDIC Chairman, Don was Chairman, President and CEO of The First National Bank of Amarillo. In December, 2008, Mr. Powell was awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second-highest honor a U.S. citizen can receive. He has served on the Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System and as Director at Bank of America. He currently serves on the board of Humphreys Capital.
