Dallas Capital Partners with Local Non-Profit to Teach Women Financial Skills

For the fourth consecutive year, Dallas Capital Bank has been privileged to serve as a financial underwriter and educational partner of Adventure and Victory for their Destiny Chasers Life Skills program.

Adventure and Victory is a local non-profit that provides life-skills, job-skills and leadership training to low- and moderate-income women. The Destiny Chasers Life Skills program focuses on helping women overcome setbacks, become more self-sufficient, and empowering them to better their lives and reach their full potential. The carefully structured curriculum combines fundamental education, group discussions and activities over the course of 8 weeks. Participants learn how to set and achieve realistic goals, relate positively to any of life’s situations, and acquire a sense of purpose and self-worth.

This year’s partnership included two courses taught by Dallas Capital Bank employees as part of the organization’s “Destiny Chasers Life Skills” program. These courses, attended by ten local women, were built to equip and empower women with the tools and education they need to transform their lives.

On July 30th, Jennifer Sauls and Jasmin Requena introduced a “Money Matters” course. This course taught attendees about setting financial goals, tracking and lowering expenses, planning spending, and managing their overall finances. The information equipped the women with knowledge necessary to keep them moving towards personal financial stability and their personal goals.

On August 20th, Justin Hall, Shannon Watts and Jessie Nielson hosted a course on “Financial Recovery.” This session guided the women in identifying their financial situation and ways to increase their income. Participants also worked to develop a financial recovery plan, which included information on credit repair.

“Teaching these women skills for financial stability and growth was incredible. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to participate in supporting and building women in our community, enabling them to reach their full potential,” says Shannon Watts.

As a partner of Adventure and Victory, the Dallas Capital Bank team is proud to lend its expertise to provide resources and tools for women in the community. For more information on Adventure and Victory, visit their website at www.adventurevictory.org.
